Preface

When we first built Evivve, one of the key objectives was to enable important leadership lessons around dealing with VUCA (volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity). Elements such as “disaster” and “disconnection” bring a host of unexpected challenges for players to overcome. As the game grew older, more and more facilitators wanted to use it for other learning competencies as well. Thus the game element of “disconnection” may not work for some learning objectives. The Pull Player feature allows you to bring the players back into the game without any disruption to the gameplay at large. In this document you will understand the Pull Player feature and how to use it.

Step 1 - Prepare

It’s important for the player to be in the waiting room before the Pull Player feature can be used. To do this, they must enter the app code on their device and arrive at this screen:

Player should be in the waiting room

If the player is unable to arrive at this screen, they are not in the game. This could be a result of one of three reasons: 1. Incorrect App Code, 2. Bad internet connection or 3. Blocked by firewall

Step 2 - Pull Player

After starting the game, you will see a new button titled “Pull Players”. Click the button to bring in the new/stuck-in-waiting-room members into the game.

Clicking this button will bring players into the game

Important Notes

  • The Pull Player feature can only be used after the game has started.

  • When a player is pulled into the game they start from scratch (200 cronos, no lands, etc...)

  • The Movilennium requirement:

    • Remains unchanged if Pull Players brings members with the same name

    • Increases if Pull Players brings members with a different name

  • You can use the Pull Players feature to bring more dynamism into the game by charging players a fee to let them back into the game (use the badges to charge).

Conclusion

Pull Players has been one of the most requested features by facilitators. We hope that this feature will help you deliver meaningful learning experiences for your players.
